NATIONAL RANDOM ACTS OF KINDESS DAY - Feb. 17, 2017

It is my favorite day of the year where people all over the world enjoy doing random acts of kindness. Find someone to do something wonderful for this day for the simple reason of being kind and NOT to get anything in return. Hopefully they will do the same for someone else. Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end. It can be as small as cleaning up a table for someone, helping carry groceries or as large as paying the food bill at Burger King for the person behind you. Kind words and deeds brighten someone’s day. “No act of Kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” (Aesop) Find someone to be the recipient of your Random Act of Kindness on this day.

READ ACROSS AMERICA - March 2, 2017

March 2nd is Read Across America day, an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss. In cities all over the nation librarians, teachers, politicians, actors, athletes, parents, grandparents and more join in the excitement at the schools to read their favorite Dr. Seuss books and other favorite titles to encourage the children and show how reading can be fun. Edison Public Library’s Children’s Librarians will all be participating in this event as they do every year by reading at the various schools.
